Shock System was an independent rock band from Malaysia. Their works have ranged from a mixture of metallic hardcore with rap-rock elements and soaring progressive rock bits. All of their recordings were released independently. With the release of ''Stagnantation Disorder'' EP in 2005, they garnered wider attention and established themselves as one of the movers of the burgeoning Malaysian underground scene along with the likes of Carburetor Dung, Auburn, and Azmyl Yunor. They're also avid supporters of Food Not Bombs Kuala Lumpur. ==History== SHOCK SYSTEM: The Shocking System Subject (ROTTW Magazine May '07) They started out as Xii Psyded Dyce, playing punk rock in 1998 and first performed at their high school party. In 2000, they changed their name to Shock System and the same year played their first show at the Colours Pub, Uptown Damansara. Since then, they've been actively playing shows around Klang Valley. The 2001 Food Not Bombs Kuala Lumpur Benefit Show at Blue Planet in Kuala Lumpur was one of their monumental shows, "We support FNBKL's noble causes and our music received great response from the crowd", vocalist Xumb commented. In 2003, they released an EP entitled ''Peaceful Demonstration''. The self-produced 2-track EP includes ''Aksi Now'' and ''Damn The Man'', recorded at Pro Sound Studio, Bangi. And in 2005, ''Stagnantation Disorder'' was released. The 5-track EP Enhanced CD was recorded in Artrax Studio, Bangi and it includes ''Damn The Man'' music video. To elaborate on the releases, Xumb explained, "On ''Peaceful Demonstration'', the first song ''Aksi Now'' was inspired after reading ''Aksi Write'', a journal by Malaysian student activist Kamal Bamadhaj who was killed in East Timur during the Dili Massacre on November 12, 1991. The song is about student activism movement and I dedicate this song to him. The second song, ''Damn The Man'' is a straight-up rebel song against corrupted authorities. The ''Stagnantation Disorder'' EP on the other hand, delivers more diversified topics; ''Killing Machines''- a call for unity to fight against global injustices, ''The Silencer''- about the enforcement of youth for nationalist programs, ''Point Of No Return''- the experience and fear of losing loved ones in everyday life struggle, ''Angel Falls''- about escapists who submit to conformity and giving up the fight for a better world, and ''Drugs Of A Nation''- the bombardment of propaganda in the media and the justifications of war". In 2005, bassist Duhlee left for Melbourne, Australia to continue his studies and was replaced by Lando. Since then Shock System consist of Scravius (guitar), Luncai (guitar), Lando (bass), Xumb (vocals) and Stixx (drums). With the new members, does the music change too? "No, the music stays the same… we just add another layer of guitar", Scravius joked. Talking about the development of song ideas, Stixx explained, "Ideas came from everyone and we worked on it until we have a solid song during jam sessions at our friends' studios Artrax, Pro Sound or Metallizer." "We aim for bigger, varied scope of audience to share our music. Our music style is slow in acceptance, but we have a decent following. However, we don't want to sound like every other bands out there. We will continue the fight and express ourselves musically without compromising the message", Xumb expressed. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Shock System」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
